Since a couple of days I was thinking to write an article on emerging topic but I couldn’t find any. One night when I was tackling with my anxiety and depression while thinking about awful things which always made me sad. Suddenly an idea clicked my mind to write an article about depression and anxiety which most of the teenagers are suffering from now a days.

Depression is a state of mind which causes you to be sad, to feel empty, to overthink and, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. According to a WHO (World Health Organization) report, depression is a common mental disorder affecting more than 264 million people worldwide. It is such a huge amount and you can’t imagine every person sitting next to you is also in depression.

Beside this, As u all know depression has been a major topic and a serious issue since we lost many precious lives, I know we all are suffering from anxiety and depression, there are problems in everyone’s life, and a life without problem is not possible, the main thing is not our problems which make us depressed but the main thing is our overthinking about that problem which make us depressed; I know among you all there are people who are silently unhappy with their life and can’t cope up with their problems and end up giving up. Ah! I failed the test now what answer I’ll give to my family. This common statement which leads thousands of students towards depression. You only failed a test, you didn’t fail in your life. A single test or admission doesn’t determine your ability. In spite of wasting your time on overthinking, you can focus on your ability and can do something better.

Apart from all these, feeling sad or unhappy is common but the sadness which makes you overthink and leads you towards committing something nasty then no doubt you are victim of depression.

It’s so depressing that in depression nothing seems funny anymore, even the things which always made us happy seems to be irritable to us. Thus! It made us helpless and hopeless.

In this life, everyone needs support and help from time to time, especially teenager, when it comes to dealing with their study and future planning, low grade, being failed in any test , not getting admission in your desired institution and death of your loved ones are quite exhausting and take the enthusiasm away. According to the  National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) “Depression can affect people of all ages, races and socioeconomic classes, and can strike at any time. The condition is found in twice as many women as men.”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow nicely quoted that Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not; and often times we call a man cold when he is only sad. Just like depression is something inside, people with most prettiest smile are  going through most hideous things.

Consequently, Depression is a worldwide spread disease that negatively affects how people feel. To overcome depression and anxiety we must focus on what we can do not what we can’t because life can have ups and downs but that doesn’t mean we should stop living. Let go off your all fears be strong and one more thing always be nice to everyone for no reason because you don’t know what a person is bearing inside, a smiling face even bears most saddest story.
