A Baloch student and fresh graduate at English Literature Department in the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad, Nabeel Arman, has been allegedly arrested and shifted to an unknown location by the “personnel of the security forces” from Islamabad’s G-7 on February 25, 2026, (this evening). He has been a climate activist and was eager to contribute in the given field. He was associates with climate change groups in the federal capital.

Baloch Students Council, Islamabad (BSC) has confirmed and condemned Nabeel’s arrest-cum-abduction and demand for his soonest and safest recovery. A spokesperson to the council said that such acts represented global human rights violations, including the right to life, liberty and protection. They demanded Nabeel’s immediate release.

Students, particularly in Islamabad and Punjab, have been under close watch of the state’s law enforcement agencies. Only yesterday, the Baloch Students Council, Punjab, held a presser at the campus, alleging that the security personnel were “racially targeting Baloch students inside the hostels by visiting room to room” which was pathetic, as per the council.

Earlier, we have observed plenty Baloch students going disappeared inside the federal capital and Punjab. Such trends have greatly traumatized the Baloch students studying there. The students believe that their fundamental human rights were being openly violated and they were not feeling secure in the federal territory and in Punjab.
