Pays Homage to imprisoned Party Leaders, Mama Qadeer And Decides Revival of Party Activities
National Democratic Party (NDP), a Baloch-centered political party functioning across Balochistan, completes its 16th Central Organizing Committee meeting where they paid homage to the “illegally imprisoned party leaders”, Ghani Baloch and Sana Khetran Baloch, hailed the lifetime struggle of Mama Qadeer Baloch, the former Vice Chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), who died of long-ailment in Quetta on December 20 this year, and made key decisions to “play their role in re-establishing a political environment” across Balochistan. The meeting was held in Quetta on December 27, 2025.
In their statement shared to the media, a spokesperson to the party said that the participants in the meeting discussed various agendas, including a full debate on the party practices, decisions, national and international political affairs, forming new policies and decisions to further expand party program among the people in Balochistan. Symbolic seats were left empty in remembrance to the illegally arrested party workers, Ghani Baloch and Sana Khetran Baloch.
In the national and international political affairs, the party’s central leaders discussed the nature of international politics and its dynamics. There were diverse opinions recorded during the meeting where one section was of the view that the “center of power” is shifting from the states and is turning to the Multi-National Companies (MNCs), believing the world is transforming from unipolar to nonpolar. On the other hand, as the spokesperson notes, the other group was reluctant on the power shifting from unipolar to multipolar where “it would not be one country to rule, but emergence of regional powers – yet vague”. They noted the contemporary growth of Russia, United Kingdom and China, while shed light on steady growth of India too.
The spokesperson added that the powerful sections often used “development” as a tool to further subjugate oppressed states and nations where they would exploit larger interests, including their intervention on the national affairs. “Such entities even influence the state and national politics, compelling them to legislate for their interests,” he notes, adding that, “while the indigenous people suffer for longer terms.” Balochistan can best be fit to the example.
He stressed on political development in Balochistan and added that the party had made several decisions which would not only help the party to improve its internal programs and growth, but also play a vital role in bringing about political consciousness and practice for larger national interests. He also decried the state institutions’ excessive use of force, laws and practices against the Baloch political workers and civilians, such as the “wrongful use” of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), Fourth Schedule, and imprisonment of political workers. The spokesperson stated that the central committee unanimously denounced the ongoing trend of women abductions in Balochistan and demanded impartial inquiry into the matter.
It should be noted that only in the month of December, five cases of women abductions have been recorded, while in the ongoing year, 2025, twelve such cases emerged with apprehension of more such cases going unrecorded.
