Like a shadeless tree

The world around me

Is still appeased

And looks ugly

No one awaits

And often everyone eludes

Thence I face the sun,

Moon and wind alone

No dewdrops emboss on me

For I am not green anymore

No wind blows across

For I am in utter ruin

Rain no more revives me

Nor pleases me the spring

I squizz the night

And gaze at the sky

But all in vain

Neither the night sprinkles its mist

Nor the sky offers shelter

It’s all agony I breathe

It’s earthlessness I feel

My ruins are so enticing

That I stand alone,

Shadeless and leafless

But again

Facing the sky, moon, and the sun

Above the earth

Beneath the sky

I seek my beloved

Who’s been my leaves, my shade and my Earth

Now I search each bit of the Earth

To discover where he rests

My roots keep spiralling

For there’s hope

Of meeting again

Not above the sky

But beneath the beautiful earth
