Hamid was content because he was going to his own home for celebrating his mother’s birthday party.
When he arrived at home, his mother was sad and silent. He asked her with much concern, “Why you are sad and sitting alone mom? Is there anything wrong, mom?”
“I am fine and nothing is wrong, beta.” replied his mom with a smile.
“Mum, you know that your birthday is near. So, are you preparing for it or not?” asked Hamid excitedly.
“No my son. I am not preparing for it because I will not celebrate my birthday party. And please go to your room now. J want to be alone for some times.” answered his mum disappointingly.
“I know something is wrong with you mum and you are not telling me. Why and what is the problem mum?”
Hamid insisted.
“Today, I am very sad because I feel like a stranger in my own home. I feel as if it is not the same home as I have lived before. Now everyone is busy with their own activities. Your father is busy with his car, your brother is busy with his friends, your sisters is busy with shopping. Even when we sit to have our meals, no one talks to one another, but busy with their cell phones.” explained his mother tearfully.
“Mum, leave them whatever they want to do. I am here and I wil manage all the things of birthday party.” said Hamid cheerfully.
His mother smiled and said, “Yeah! You are here but what about others? I wish my all family members should be together and talk with each other, share the happenings of their lives, enjoy with each other.”
That afternoon Hamid was thinking what his mother said to him. He was worried a lot and he did not know what to do to combine his family members to celebrate her mother’s birthday party.
He could not sleep for two days. Suddenly, an idea flashed in his mind. He decided to give a surprise to his mom.
So, Hamid individually talked to every single family member and asked them to leave all their works back that day. He also described the plan of a surprise party to his mother on her birthday.
Merrily, everyone agrees with Hamid’s planning. And they all left their works for the very special purpose of celebrating the birthday party all together.
It was March 22. Everyone was busy with their own works and his mum was sitting in the home. When the clock ticked to 12:00 at night, all of his family members went to her room silently. The light was switched off. Hamid went near the switch and counted one, two and three and then everyone present their said at once “Happy Birthday to the most beautiful lady of our home”.
She got so shocked looking at all of the family members together in her room. It was so pleasing for her. More than her birthday, she was happy to see all the family together.
And they all promised her that no one would be busy with anything the next day but the birthday celebration. And their relatives would be called too for the birthday party.
The next day, they all celebrated the birthday party wholeheartedly. All of the members were gathered there and talking so closely and happily with one another. Hamid, from a corner of his home, was looking at her mother with tears of happiness. His tears of merriness also fell down. It was, finally, a satisfactory birthday party for Hamid’s mother.
At the end of the party, she called Hamid and said, “Thank you so much beta for all your love and attention. I never ever expected I would celebrate my birthday party with all my family members together. You have done a lot for me. It was the best present I have ever gotten. Thank you so much beta.”
Hamid smiled and hugged her mother. The next day, he again packed up his stuff to leave for the hostel.
So, we should all love our mothers and give them due respect. Because, they do a lot for us, so why cannot we do something of our benefit to make our mothers happy.
