Quetta: Police baton-charged protesting medical students and arrested several when they blocked GPO road.

According to the reports, several students have also become injured as the police baton-charged and used tear gas.

The students have been protesting for the last ten days against the misconduct and irregularities during Bolan Medical College (BMC) entry test. Chief Minister of Balochistan Qudoos Bizanjo had taken notice of the issue and directed the office of the Assistant Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

The inquiry report agreed with the students as it found irregularities during BMC entry test and recommended for the retest.

Today the medical students tried to rally against Higher Education Commission (HEC) and blocked the GPO road, resulting the baton-charge and arrest of several students.

The case is in the court and the decision is yet to come; however, the student are of the opinion that the HEC and other concerned authorities have shown insincerity towards solving the issue and they have failed to provide justice to the protesting students.
