Baloch celebrate their Culture Day is as culture is our identification. A day fixed for the culture day is March 2 which is to honor and promote the rich traditions, history and identity of the Baloch people. This day is mainly observed in various Baloch regions across Balochistan and as well as by the Baloch community around the world. It is a day of pride, unity and cultural awareness.
Baloch culture is one of the oldest cultures in this region. It is known for its strong values such as bravery, hospitality, respect for elders, and loyalty. Dr. Farooq Baloch and Dr. Jan Muhammad Dashti, considered two important historians and intellectual figures in the Baloch community, believe that the Baloch people have the richest and most ancient history that should be properly documented and taught to the younger generations.
On this special day, people proudly show their love for their culture by wearing traditional clothes. Men wear Shalwar Kameez with a turban, while women wear beautifully embroidered dresses with colorful designs. Balochi embroidery is famous all over the world for an unique patterns.
Different cultural activities are organized on this day. People arrange rallies, seminars, and cultural programs. Traditional Balochi music plays a vital role and the famous Do-Chaap (dance) is performed in groups. Poets recite Balochi poetry that reflect the history, struggles, and beauty of the land.
