Allah Dad Wahid, who belongs to Singanisar area of Turbat, was born on 5th of August, 1996, in Lyari General Hospital, Karachi. He received his basic education from Government Boys Middle School Singanisar, Turbat. For Secondary School, he got enrolled in Model High School Turbat where he completed his matriculation in 2013. Later, he joined Atta Shad Degree College and completed his Fundamental of Arts (FA) during 2013-15.
His quest and interest for History and Literature took him to Karachi to pursue his further education. There he got his Bachelors and Master’s degrees between 2016-19 from Karachi University. During his education, he was involved in literary activities and served as President in Nokap Labzanki Majlis Faqeer Colony, Karachi. He also contributed to literary works like book editing and series compilations. At that meantime, he was also offered to teach in the Habib University Karachi, but he denied.
Later, he appeared for MPhil admissions, securing his placements in Bahauddin Zakriya University Multan and Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. He chased QAU where he completed his first year of MPhil during 2022-23. However, after a mass attack on Baloch students in Islamabad by the end of 2023, Dad froze his further semesters and returned back to his hometown, Turbat.
During his frozen semester, he did not sit idly at home, but got it as an opportunity to work more on his M.Phil thesis and considered the same time to dedicate towards the advancement of Balochi language and literature and its institutionalization. He connected to different literary figures, convincing them to translate literatures to Balochi. For this, he established his own publishing House “Dodmaan Shengkar” in 2023, which got grip in 2024.
Apart from this, he was also an anonymous writer who used to write for various magazines. He was editor of the Raajman series, while worked closely with other publications in not only editing their texts but also writing their forewords. During all his life, he remained defaced, and only focussed on the growth of Balochi literature. He was asking people to write on various fields of study – the main intention behind establishing his own publication was for the very same purpose.
He was also a society-man. Whether mourning or felicitations, he was there to stand as a leading character in the ceremonies. It was he who could easily gather everyone for a common task. He was widely termed as “Dad” among his family and friend circles – a title that truly reflects his characteristics of being a true Dad (gift) to his people.
The late evening or February 4, 2025, a day we were to celebrate, became the last time we could see him alive alongside physically. He went out with friends and returned back as a lifeless body. The moments still haunt fresh. I hope his dream continues to bear fruits for us as a nation.
Rest In Power, Dad.
