Once there lived two farmers, Peer Bakhsh and Raheem Bakhsh, in a village Asiaabad, at the outskirts of tehsil Tump of Kech district. They had fields, which were the sources of their livelihood. As the culture of generating income from the farms has lessened in the recent years with the evolution of the modern modes of businesses and cultures, they could not manage to prosper accordingly. Due to the mentioned concern, they faced challenges like their plants perished owing to a lack of attention – from both, the farmers and the market value. While the lack of sunlight contributed in curbing its significance.

Though the lack of energy or sunlight was an issue of climate change, it was something out of the thoughts of the two. What they observed was a degradation of their farms. It eventually disappointed both the farmers who lost their vigor. Peer Bakhsh had lost his farms’ essence and decided to quit on his fields, while Raheem could not leave his fields since he had great bond and love with his land.

A wise man of the village, Qambar Baloch was speaking to the farmers in the area, telling them how the climate change is affecting their fields. He encouraged them to continue to farm explaining how they are closely linked with their national culture and essence. He further advised them that though the climate change was a challenge, they had to tolerate and farm. “You must linger and persevere in the field for many reasons,” he told them.

It sparked a hope in Raheem’s eyes, encouraging him to continue with his fields. He waited patiently for the climate to change and give him space to move on the way he was suggested by Qambar. “I will prosper and my land will be beautiful again,” he promised himself.

After several hardships and struggles, he succeeded in greening his land again. All the villagers appreciated his patience. Eventually, he secured his dream and is living happily with on land.
