“Mom, when will dad come and bring dolls for me as all the other kids have?” asked a kid with sobbing eyes to her mother. Her mother hugged her tearfully and said with grief, “He will come! Comrade will be back!”

Time flied. Years, months, weeks and days passed by, but the father of the brave daughter is yet missing. No one knows where and how he is. His daughter grew up with a lot of questions in her mind. All unanswered yet. The worst of all is she even does not know where her role model, her father, is.

After years of continuous inquiry, she once again asked her mother the same question: “Mama! You said that dad will be back but I haven’t seen him yet. Where is he? What happened to him? Tell me mom. For how long would you hide this from me?”

“My bold daughter! My supportive daughter same as your father! Comrade of our nation, keeping the hope of your father alive…” said her mother, sobbing , trying to gather her words. “Your courageous dad, who always spoke of the realities, against the cruelties and injustices being done to his nation, was abducted by armed men.”

Looking her mother breaking into pieces, she consoled her and stated, “My valorous mother,” said the daughter, “don’t worry, your daughter is with you.”

“My daughter, it’s not only your dad who went missing. There are thousands of Shay Mureed who were abducted, tortured and killed. Their beloveds are wearing their hearts on their sleeves asking for their safe recovery but…” her mother broke into tears.

“But what mother? What happened to them? Did they come back?” asked the girl.

“Nothing happened! Many of them were killed in fake encounters and thousands are still missing. Nobody keeps any idea about them.” she said on the present Baloch situations with concerns about her husband.

“I will raise my voice. I will fight for the sake of my land, for the sake of my people,” she told her mother firmly.

After doing her graduation, she began struggling against injustices taking place on her soil being inflicted on her fellow nationals. She raised her voice and pursued justice everywhere. She gathered the people, organized protests and rallies for the safe recovery of the forcibly disappeared Baloch. She also arranged sit-ins on roads and in front of the press clubs of various cities.

Despite the fact that her struggle was within the existing “state’s” constitution, they were overseen and termed “terrorists”. They demanded for upholding the constitution and the judiciary. She wanted the families know the whereabouts of the victims of abduction so that their families know what they have done and be given a chance to protect them in a court of law.

Not too long, she herself became a victim of enforced disappearance because of her being very active for the Baloch cause. Like others she voiced for, no one knows of her whereabouts either. No one knows what pains she is enduring. Like Zareena Marri and many other unreported cases of women abductions, she becomes the new name.
