QUETTA: At least seven people, including a police officer, were killed in two different armed clashes in Jaffarabad and Jhal Magsi districts of Balochistan.

According to the police, SHO Gandakha police station Rahim Bakhsh Marri conducted a raid in Gandakha area on a tip-off about the presence of dacoit Zulfiqar Brohi and his accomplices in the area.

“The dacoits opened fire on the police and tried to escape. However, the police chased the bandits, who were wanted by Sindh and Balochistan police. In the heavy exchange of fire, SHO Gandakha Rahim Bakhsh Marri was killed.” Said police sources.

The killed dacoit was in the wanted list of the government and a head money of 500000 rupees was announced for providing information about him.

Meanwhile, as a result of tribal clash, four people of Baro tribe got killed and five others received injuries in Jhal Magsi.

According to the police sources, two groups of Baro tribe had disputes over land ownership which resulted into a deadly clash.

“A heavy exchange of fire ensued after the tribesmen took positions against each other,” said Deputy Commissioner Jhal Magsi. As a result four tribesmen from both the sides were killed and five others were injured, he added.

The police and Levies Forces reached the site and shifted the injured and dead bodies to civil hospital Jhal Magsi. After investigations, the dead bodies were handed over the families.

Qadir Bakhsh, Behram Khan, Jamil Ahmed and Aajhan Khan were killed in the tribal dispute.
