University of Balochistan has always been the victim of political game due to which its educational environment is getting worse day by day.
Recently, students of the university staged a peaceful hunger strike camp in Quetta against voice chancellor and poor administration of Balochistan University.
The hunger strike camp of the students lasted for more than eighty days, but no body bothered to step forward for resolving their grievances.
The health minister of Balochistan once raised the issue in parliament and asked the concerned authorities to resolve the issues of the striking students, but no practical steps were taken in this regard.
On the request of Balochistan University vice Chancellor, police took several students into custody. A video on the social media showed that the students were being pushed into the police van by the vice chancellor.
After their arrest they were presented as criminals and were handcuffed with chains which was strongly condemned by the educationists, students and people belonging to other walks of life.
Baloch Students Organization, Pashtoon Students Federation, Hazara Students Federation, and BSO (Pajjar) had setup a hunger strike camp and demanded the removal of current Vice Chancellor and asked for appointment of an academically strong and well-qualified person on the post.
Students complained that due to negligent Vice Chancellor the quality of education in the university has decreased because of which the students hesitate to take admission in University of Balochistan.
Besides that administration has increased the academic fee and prospectus price which makes it difficult for the poor students of the province to continue their education.
