Baloch Students Council and Quadian Students Federation (QSF) have shut down Quiad i Azum University Islamabad this morning over the issue of expelled and rusticated students.

The students blocked the entry points of the university early morning and did not let the buses enter the university.

According to the reports, the students have demanded to restore all the students who were expelled and rusticated from the university after the clash between the Baloch and Sindhi students in May this year. More than thirty students had become injured and over forty students were expelled and rusticated from the university due to the fight between Baloch and Mehran Councils.

The rusticated and expelled students were also fined twenty five to fifty thousand rupees.

The sources said students held a meeting with Vice Chancellor QAU yesterday in order to settle the issue, but VC refused to restore the students after which students announced to go for strike and closed down the university.

According to the sources, the expelled and rusticated students of Mehran and Baloch councils have submitted the fine money, but were not restored by the administration.

Along with restoration of students, the strikers have also demanded to provide facilities to the students.

The students have vowed to continue the strike till the fulfillment of the demands.
