The paradise captured in frames

Balochistan is home to pulchritude. They do not only need to be explored, but reserved for tourism and research projects, particularly the historic sites, following the ancient significance of the region. At the same time, it is going through a state of war-like situation where researchers, photographers and historians are at a bar to visit multiple sites. Despite all this, there are some Baloch photographers who give their best to explore Balochistan and tell the world of the hidden beauty it carries within its chest. Ilyas Allah Baksh carries a similar mission.

Born in Pasni, he has been in the photography field for the last ten years, visiting different places across Balochistan and capturing the region with his camera lens. He has featured in several global and national events as a recognized photographer and has been widely known for his professional clicks. Among his works, he has exhibited eighteen of his recent photographs in an open “Photo Exhibition” in Quetta’s Thaheer Production House present at Sabzal Road, Quetta on 28 and 29 October, 2026.

Part of his prolonged efforts, this marks Ilyas’ third Photo Exhibition including one in Islamabad last year. The mission he carries through his camera is evident in his efforts towards professionalism in the arts field, which is staggering towards advancement – specifically with the newcomers focusing on professional development in the art field. Although art has not gained the desired momentum in Balochistan, however, with what all the young artists are doing, including Ilyas, they have opened the door for a better future for arts in Balochistan.

Before Ilyas, we have seen similar efforts from (Late) Kamanchar Baloch who, under the banner of Balochistan in frames, organized Art Exhibitions across Balochistan. Ilyas and his fellows are leading the dream further – a dream towards professionalism in the art section. All these emerging photographers have is a paradise at home that they intend to globalize. This dream is a dream towards self-dependency and carrying the individual dreams towards professionalism in a society where dreams are crushed in the name of scope.

With the support of Thaheer Production Team, Ilyas has organized a two-day photo exhibition which continues from 28 October to 29 October this year at the evening at Thaheer Production House present at Sabzal Road Quetta.
