Students stage protest against the non-functional medical colleges

Medical Students of Balochistan protesting in front of Quetta Press Club

Students of Balochistan staged a protest in front of Quetta press club against the non-functional new medical colleges in Balochistan.

The students said after decades government finally took a step for the betterment of health sector in 2013 and approved medical colleges which have been completed this year but they have not been made functional yet.

According to the students, the health minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch had promised to initiate the classes in March 2017, but he failed to fulfill his promise as the classes have still not been started .

The students carried placards in their hands which demanded initiating the classes in new medical colleges of Balochistan.

Students further said, the classes could not be started due to non-availability of professors and the funds that have been allocated for the salary of professors are not enough to meet the requirements.

The students urged the health minister to issue more funds from the finance department for the appointment of professors so that the classes get started and the worthy time of students is saved.
