Water is considered as one of the essential requirements to survive. The availability of drinking water is under crisis in the multi-billion dollar port city of Gwadar. The water crisis in the city is longstanding and the residents have protested against the non-availability of water several times, but no steps can be seen from provincial and federal governments.

Due to lack of funding and water purifying equipment, the crisis prolongs to reach its highest proportions in the city. WAPDA seems hopeless in this regard. If the crisis continues to prevail in future, inevitably, it would severely affect CPEC project and would be a great hamper on the path of nation’s progress.

Gwadar city requires water management, equipment to purify the water and a workable plan to overcome the crisis.
